Government appoints three NPC members
The government has appointed three members in the National Planning Commission (NPC) on Monday.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers appointed Sushil Gyawali, Anjan Shakya and Kushendra Shahi as the NPC members.
Similarly, the cabinet decided to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on establishing bilateral consultation mechanism between Foreign Ministries of Nepal and Bahrain under the Foreign Affairs Ministry, according to the Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma.
“The government also took the decision to acquire land for 132-KV Amarpur-Shungesanghu transmission project under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and to designate to take initial action.
Engineer of the project, Nitesh Yadav, has been appointed to carry out the jobs, said Minister Sharma, who is also government Spokesperson.
The cabinet meeting also decided that Foreign Secretary would lead the meeting of the Joint Commission between Nepal and the European Union as well as Nepal-Belgium Bilateral Mechanism on February 2.
Similarly, the meeting approved the visit of Foreign Minister Bimala Rai Poudel to participate in the 75th Independence Day of Sri Lanka.
