Government Blacklists 12 Contractor Companies and Suppliers
The government has blacklisted 12 contractor companies and suppliers for failing to adhere to legal and procedural requirements. The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) announced the decision through a notice issued today, stating that the action was taken based on reports submitted by various public agencies.
The companies were blacklisted under Section 63(1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2063 BS. As a result, the listed contractors and suppliers are barred from participating in any procurement or bidding processes for a period ranging from six months to three years.
The PPMO’s decision highlights varying durations of blacklisting for different entities. Some are restricted for three years, while others face bans of one year or six months, depending on the severity of the violations.
The notice further specifies that the blacklisted entities include public bodies such as the Transport Infrastructure Directorate in Phidim, Panchthar; Nepal Telecom Central Office; the Department of Roads in Chaurjahari, Rukum West; the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office; and Nepal Forest Corporation Limited.
This move underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring accountability and compliance in public procurement processes.
