Government Formed for Nation’s Development and Stability: PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that the two major political parties have come together to form the government with the objective of ensuring national development and stability, dismissing concerns about any misunderstandings among ruling partners.
Addressing lawmakers in today’s House of Representatives meeting, PM Oli emphasized that the current government was formed with the participation of Nepal’s two largest political parties, along with other parties that played key roles in the country’s democratic movement. He asserted that there is strong confidence and understanding within the coalition to drive economic growth, ensure political stability, and work toward national prosperity.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of recent ordinances issued by the government, stating that they aim to bring policy and legal reforms to improve the business environment, encourage investment, and boost economic activity. He also criticized opposition parties for objecting to the ordinance, noting that those same parties had previously introduced similar measures to facilitate party splits.
Responding to concerns raised by CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Barshaman Pun, PM Oli reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritizing budget allocation, implementing economic reforms, accelerating development projects, enhancing service delivery, and promoting good governance.
He outlined measures taken to improve project implementation, including the selection of projects based on the project bank, ensuring priority is given to initiatives with secured investment sources and short-term returns. Additionally, projects that have completed all preparatory work, as per classification criteria, will be given precedence to enhance capital expenditure and fiscal discipline.
PM Oli stressed that mechanisms would be strengthened to expedite project implementation, address contract management issues, amend public procurement laws as necessary, and ensure better coordination among different government levels and agencies.
