Government Plans to Address Loan Sharking Issues with New Ordinance for Victims

The government has taken significant steps to address the plight of victims of loan sharking by ensuring the implementation of legal provisions through an ordinance. In a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday, it was decided to amend existing laws to provide a solution to the issues faced by the victims of loan sharking.

According to Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, the decision has been made to recommend an ordinance to the President to ensure the establishment of legal provisions to address the problems of the usury victims. The ordinance will be sent to the President promptly, as Minister Sharma added that it will be forwarded by today itself.

This move by the government is a promising step in the direction of protecting vulnerable individuals from the perils of loan sharking and providing them with the necessary support to overcome the challenges they face.
