Government to Recommend Prorogation of Federal Parliament Session

The government has decided to recommend the prorogation of the ongoing session of the federal parliament, including the House of Representatives and the National Assembly, effective from midnight on April 1.

The decision was made during a Council of Ministers meeting held on Monday evening, as confirmed by government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.

The current parliamentary session commenced on January 31. As per the constitution, the President holds the authority to summon and prorogue sessions of one or both houses of parliament.
