‘Govt. should pay attention to Melamchi Drinking Water Project’

The National Concerns and Coordination Committee of the National Assembly on Monday made an onsite visit to the source of Melamchi Drinking Water Project at Ambathan in Helambu, Sindhupalchowk.

National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina and Committee Chairperson Dil Kumari Rawal Thapa and other NA members also visited the site.

Talking briefly to the media after visiting the source of water, NA Chairman Timilsina said that the project is vital for Kathmanduites and asked the government to pay special attention to ensure sustainability of the project.

Timilsina said that the government should allocated required budget for this project and the reconstruction of the site which was damaged by the flooding should the first priority.
Likewise, he asked the government to address the issues of the local residents.
