The District Court Kaski is continuing its hearing today to decide whether to extend the remand for further investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds by seven defendants, including Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson and former Home Affairs Minister, Rabi Lamichhane.
The case involves accusations of financial mismanagement linked to the Pokhara-based Suryadarshan Cooperative. According to Kaski District Court Registrar Rajan Khanal, Friday’s proceedings featured arguments from legal representatives for two defendants, Leela Pachhai and Chhabilal Joshi.
Previously, the court heard submissions from government lawyers and the petitioner’s legal team. The ongoing hearings focus on determining whether the defendants should remain in custody during the investigation phase.
Further updates are awaited as the legal proceedings continue.
