The District Court Kaski has commenced hearings from the defense lawyers in the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case, which involves seven defendants, including Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson and former Minister for Home Affairs, Rabi Lamichhane.
The case revolves around allegations of embezzling savings from the Pokhara-based Suryadarshan Cooperative. According to Rajan Khanal, registrar of the Kaski District Court, legal representatives for the defendants—Leela Pachhai and Chhabilal Joshi—presented their arguments today.
The court is currently deliberating whether to extend the remand for further investigation. Prior to this, hearings from government lawyers and legal representatives of the petitioners were conducted.
The proceedings remain ongoing, with the court yet to deliver a decision regarding the remand of the accused.
