High-Level Chinese Delegation Set to Visit Nepal, ‘Sarla’ Arranges Meetings
High-ranking leaders of the Chinese Communist Party are visiting Nepal one after the other. Just a few days after the visit of Liu Jianchao, the head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, who established the ‘Silk Roadster’ in Kathmandu, another prominent team is about to arrive in Nepal.
The upcoming visit is being arranged by Sarla, the head of China’s Nepal affairs, who has recently arrived in Nepal for this purpose. In a symbolic gesture of cultural understanding, the diplomat of the Chinese Foreign Ministry has adopted the Nepali name ‘Sarla.’
Sarla’s main responsibility during her visit is to finalize the schedule for the visit of Yuan Jiajun, a high-ranking leader from China. The visit is expected to hold special significance for Nepal-China relations. As part of her engagements, Sarla is coordinating meetings with top Nepalese leaders, including those from the Communist Party and Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Nepal’s Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, is also planning a visit to China in September, adding further significance to the ongoing exchange of high-level delegations between the two countries. It appears that Nepal is becoming a focal point for diplomatic engagements, as evidenced by the increasing number of visits by leaders from neighboring China and the United States.
With the influx of Chinese leaders visiting Nepal in recent times, this latest delegation’s arrival signifies the growing importance of Nepal in China’s regional strategy. As both nations strengthen their ties through these diplomatic engagements, the visits are likely to pave the way for enhanced cooperation and mutual understanding in various spheres of interest.
