Jagdamba Hospitality Group, the operator of Hilton Hotel Kathmandu, has strongly denied recent rumors circulating about the alleged sale of the hotel to Jayabir Deuba, son of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. In an official statement issued on Sunday, the company condemned the reports as completely false, misleading, and politically motivated.
The group clarified that no process whatsoever has been initiated regarding the sale of Hilton Hotel in Naxal, Kathmandu, and that media reports claiming otherwise are entirely baseless. It accused various online platforms and social media users of intentionally spreading fabricated stories as part of a broader campaign to target and defame the Shankar Group—one of Nepal’s oldest business houses.
“It appears that an attempt is being made to mislead the public by linking the hotel with political figures and influential business entities,” said the press release. “These rumors have no factual foundation and are aimed at damaging the company’s reputation.”
Jagdamba Hospitality Group also criticized the irresponsible dissemination of such claims and urged journalists, media outlets, and the public to verify facts before sharing unsubstantiated information. The company emphasized that the Hilton brand remains committed to long-term service excellence and sustainable growth in Nepal’s hospitality sector.
Warning of potential legal consequences, the statement concluded: “The company reserves the right to pursue legal action against any individual or entity involved in spreading such false and defamatory content, in accordance with the laws of Nepal.”
The Hilton Hotel operator reiterated its call for the responsible sharing of accurate, factual information and expressed gratitude to its guests, partners, and stakeholders for their continued trust and support.
