Home Minister Pledges Action Against Perpetrators

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has assured that those responsible for the vandalism and arson during Friday’s royalist demonstration will face legal action.

On Saturday, Minister Lekhak, accompanied by Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, senior Home Ministry officials, and police officers, inspected the affected areas, including Tinkune and Koteshwor, where protestors torched and vandalized multiple structures.

The inspection covered a private residence in Tinkune, Kantipur Television, Annapurna Post Daily, the Herbs Production and Processing Company in Jadibuti, party offices of CPN (Unified Socialist) and CPN (Maoist Centre), and a Koteshwor-based sales store.

During the visit, Minister Lekhak condemned the attack on media houses, calling it unacceptable and inhumane. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to holding the perpetrators accountable.

“In a democratic republic, competition exists between the government and opposition as per the people’s mandate,” Lekhak stated. “However, when anarchic activities are orchestrated against the system, we must stand united to counter them.”
