
Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak Meets ADB Country Director to Discuss Development Projects


Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak met with Arnaud Cauchois, the Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Nepal, during a courtesy call at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Singha Durbar on Thursday. The meeting focused on advancing key infrastructure and development initiatives in Nepal.
Minister Lekhak expressed gratitude for ADB’s significant contributions to Nepal’s infrastructure development. He urged ADB’s continued support for priority projects, including the upgrading of the Gaddachauki-Kohalpur section of the East-West Highway, construction of the Mahakali Corridor, enhancement of the Godavari-Dadeldhura road, and infrastructure development around the proposed Dodhara Chandani Dry Port project.
Discussions also revolved around accelerating smart city projects supported by ADB in Sudurpaschim Province and exploring potential ADB assistance in developing religious tourism infrastructure in the region.
The Home Minister emphasized the importance of implementing a survey report prepared by ADB last year, which outlined strategies for boosting the tourism industry in Sudurpaschim Province.
In response, Cauchois assured the Minister that he would consult with senior ADB officials regarding the proposed projects and provide further feedback.
