Home Minister Urges Ministry Employees to Prioritize Service Delivery and Efficiency
In a bid to enhance public service delivery and combat various social challenges, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has issued crucial directives to the Ministry of Home Affairs. In a recent address to ministry employees at Singha Durbar, Lamichhane underscored the importance of adhering to legal mandates to serve the citizens effectively.
During the program, attended by officers from various districts and agencies, Lamichhane emphasized the need for immediate action plans to tackle pressing issues such as hooliganism, smuggling, revenue leakage, and exploitation of natural resources. He urged officials to prioritize social harmony, disaster management, and the reduction of traffic accidents.
Furthermore, Lamichhane cautioned against succumbing to undue political pressure, urging employees to uphold their responsibilities as creative administrators while respecting citizens’ rights. He stressed the importance of efficiency, instructing against wastage of time in formalities and calling upon immigration staffers to swiftly address service complaints.
This directive comes in the wake of significant personnel changes within the Ministry of Home Affairs, with 22 employees, including high-ranking officials from various departments, being transferred earlier this week. Among those affected are the Director General of the Department of Immigration and key personnel from Tribhuvan International Airport, Gautam Budha International Airport, and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
