House of Representatives Approves Government’s Policies and Programmes for FY 2025–26

The House of Representatives has endorsed the Government’s Policies and Programmes for the Fiscal Year 2025–26 by a majority vote. Speaker Devraj Ghimire formally announced the passage of the document during today’s parliamentary session.
President Ramchandra Paudel had presented the policy document on May 2 during a joint session of both Houses of the Federal Parliament. The House deliberated on the contents of the government’s agenda from May 5 to May 11, with discussions covering a wide range of issues raised by lawmakers.
On the final day of deliberations, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli addressed the House, responding to the concerns and critiques raised during the debate. The session also considered a total of 37 amendment proposals submitted by various lawmakers—individually and jointly. However, all proposed amendments were rejected by the House.
The approval of the policy document marks a key step in the government’s legislative calendar, paving the way for the upcoming fiscal budget and administrative planning for the year ahead.
