House Should Focus on Laws and People’s Issues: Maoist’s Sapkota
Madhav Sapkota, a leader of the CPN-Maoist Center and a member of the House of Representatives, has called upon the House to prioritize its role as a platform for legislative action and debate on issues affecting the people. During a special session of the House of Representatives, Sapkota expressed concerns about the increasing prevalence of political disputes overshadowing the discussion of matters related to people’s livelihoods.
Sapkota emphasized the importance of the House focusing on its core functions of making laws and addressing the concerns of the public. He noted a growing trend of members engaging in verbal clashes and urged everyone to act responsibly and truthfully in their roles.
Furthermore, Sapkota pointed out that the leader of the main opposition party had delivered a speech in the House that he believed contradicted the spirit of the comprehensive peace agreement. He called for greater discipline and responsibility among political leaders to maintain a constructive and respectful atmosphere within the House of Representatives.
