Humla Experiences Third Snowfall of the Season

Humla, one of the mountainous districts in Karnali Province, witnessed its third snowfall of the season, beginning Friday night and continuing into Saturday morning. The snowfall has blanketed areas including Simkot, the district headquarters, and Namkha Rural Municipality.
While the cold weather has forced locals to stay indoors, many farmers have welcomed the snowfall, calling it beneficial for crops. “This snowfall is a blessing for agriculture,” said Gaugora Bohara, a local farmer.
The temperature in the district has dropped below freezing, significantly affecting daily life. In addition, flights to and from the district have been disrupted, isolating the region further due to the adverse weather conditions.
Snowfall has also been reported in other mountainous areas of Karnali Province, adding to the challenges but bringing hope to communities reliant on snowfall for water resources and agriculture.
