ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Afghanistan to face England today in Perth

England and Afghanistan will be locking horns against each other in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader in the T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 stage. This will also be the second game of Group 1 in the Super 12 stage. The match will be held at Optus Park in Perth.
Both teams are clubbed in the first group which also consists of the likes of Australia and New Zealand.
Despite the World Cup officially commencing last week, Saturday will mark both teams’ first match of the tournament.
Part of the same Super 12 group, England and Afghanistan will go on to play four more matches each before the semi-final participants are confirmed.
Afghanistan has never made it past the second round of the tournament, whilst England will be aiming to win it all for the first time since 2010.
The first match between Australia and New Zealand in the Super 12 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is underway.
