
India Embassy Expresses Condolences Over Nepali Student’s Death at KIIT, Assures Support for Students


The Embassy of India in Kathmandu has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic death of a Nepali student at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The Embassy extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving family during this difficult time.
In an official statement, the Embassy confirmed that it has been in touch with both the authorities at KIIT and the Odisha State Government. Local authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the student’s death.
Following the incident, KIIT has called on Nepali students at the institute to return to campus, resume their studies, and continue staying in the hostels. The institute also assured students that any academic disruptions will be addressed appropriately.
The Embassy reiterated that Nepali students in India are integral to the strong and enduring ties between the two nations. The Government of India is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of Nepali students and will continue to take all necessary steps to support them.
