India Rejects Allegations by Canada and Expels Senior Canadian Diplomat
India has firmly rejected recent allegations made by Canadian officials and has taken decisive action in response to growing concerns regarding interference in its internal matters and the involvement of Canadian diplomats in activities detrimental to India’s interests.
The statement by the Government of India comes in response to remarks made by the Canadian Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister in the Canadian Parliament. India has categorically rejected these statements, asserting that allegations of the Indian government’s involvement in acts of violence in Canada are baseless and driven by ulterior motives.
Similar allegations were previously presented by the Canadian Prime Minister to India’s Prime Minister, and they were unequivocally dismissed. India emphasizes its status as a democratic nation with a strong commitment to the rule of law and emphasizes that unfounded allegations are designed to divert attention from the presence of Khalistani terrorists and extremists who have found refuge in Canada. These individuals continue to pose a threat to India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the Indian government is concerned about the Canadian government’s failure to take appropriate action on this matter.
Furthermore, India expresses deep concern over the open expressions of sympathy by Canadian political figures for these elements. The presence of a safe haven in Canada for a range of illegal activities, including murders, human trafficking, and organized crime, is a longstanding issue that India firmly rejects any attempt to associate with the Indian government.
India urges the Government of Canada to promptly and effectively address the presence and activities of anti-India elements operating within its borders through legal means.
Expulsion of Senior Canadian Diplomat
In response to its growing concerns about Canadian diplomats’ involvement in internal matters and anti-India activities, the Government of India has taken a significant step. Today, the High Commissioner of Canada to India was summoned and informed of India’s decision to expel a senior Canadian diplomat who is stationed in India. This diplomat has been given a five-day period to leave India.
This decision reflects the Indian government’s determination to address the issue of foreign interference and activities contrary to India’s interests. India emphasizes the importance of diplomatic relationships based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs and expects that this action will serve as a clear message regarding the seriousness of the matter.
India remains committed to maintaining diplomatic relations with Canada on the basis of mutual respect, cooperation, and adherence to international norms. However, it expects that Canadian diplomats will conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the principles of diplomacy and international relations.
