India Warns Pakistan After Ceasefire Violations, Vows Strong Response

Hours after a ceasefire understanding was reached between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan, the Indian government has accused Pakistan of violating the agreement and warned of serious consequences if such actions continue.

Addressing a special briefing on Operation Sindoor, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that there had been “repeated violations” of the ceasefire understanding agreed upon earlier in the day. “This is a breach of the understanding arrived at today, and we take very serious notice of these violations,” he stated.

The Foreign Secretary Misri emphasized that the Indian Armed Forces have been instructed to respond “adequately and appropriately” to any breaches along both the International Border and the Line of Control. “Our forces are maintaining a strong and vigilant watch on the situation. Any repetition will be dealt with firmly,” he said.

Calling on Pakistan to act responsibly, Misri urged Islamabad to “take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with seriousness.” The Indian side has made it clear that further provocation will not go unanswered.

The warning comes as tensions escalate between the two countries following a series of missile strikes and retaliatory operations, including the Indian Air Force’s targeted strikes under Operation Sindoor. The latest developments indicate a fragile ceasefire and a potential return to prolonged hostilities unless diplomatic channels succeed in restoring calm.

The Indian government’s response reflects a hardened stance against cross-border violations and a reaffirmation of its commitment to national security and territorial integrity.
