Indian Ambassador Asserts Nepal’s Power Alliance Shift as Internal Matter
Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, emphasized that the recent change in power dynamics within Nepal is an internal affair of the nation. This statement came during his meeting with the newly appointed Finance Minister, Barshman Pun, at the Ministry of Finance located at Singha Durbar on Thursday.
In the meeting, Ambassador Srivastava reiterated India’s stance, affirming that India’s approach towards Nepal remains unaffected by shifts in its power equations. “The alteration in power dynamics is solely an internal matter for Nepal,” stated Srivastava during his discussion with Finance Minister Pun.
According to sources from Finance Minister Pun’s secretariat, Srivastava reassured that India’s relations with the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ have been positive and will continue to be so in the future.
Furthermore, Srivastava underscored the fundamental nature of the relationship between Nepal and India, committing to maintaining the robust ties enjoyed in the past. He emphasized the importance of continuous cooperation and investment between the two countries, grounded in mutual trust.
