Indian ambassador intensified meeting major leaders in Nepal
At a time when Nepal has finished counting the votes that were cast in the Nov. 20 parliamentary elections, Naveen Srivastava, Indian Ambassador to Nepal has intensified his meetings with top leaders of major political parties of Nepal.
Ambassador Srivastava met Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba during the vote count and again on December 3.
Similarly, On Wednesday, Srivastava reached Balkot, the residence of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli to meet him.
He also met Maoist Centre Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal and Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun between the visit of Prime Minister Deuba and UML Chair Oli.
While the new government is yet to be formed, his meetings with Nepalese leaders have drawn much criticism in the country. Many are questioning if India is trying to influence Nepal’s internal affairs.
However, the sources close to the leaders say that Srivastava only talked about contemporary politics and relations between the two countries.
