Indian Ambassador Srivastava Meets PM Oli to Discuss India-Pakistan Tensions

Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday to brief him on the recent escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan following a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, on April 22.

The meeting took place at Oli’s official residence in Baluwatar. According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Ambassador Srivastava clarified that India had conducted a retaliatory operation in response to the attack but rejected claims circulating in the media about a “jet attack,” calling them misleading.

Srivastava also expressed appreciation for the statement issued by the Government of Nepal on Thursday, which condemned the terrorist incident and reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to peace.

During the meeting, Oli reiterated Nepal’s consistent stance against all forms of terrorism and emphasized that the country will not allow its territory to be used for activities that threaten the security of its neighbours. He further stated that Nepal stands firmly in support of global peace and stability.
