Indian Embassy in Nepal Hosts Mesmerizing Kathak Dance Recital for 78th Independence Day Celebrations
The Indian Embassy in Nepal hosted a captivating Kathak dance recital by Ms. Arpita Dutta and her troupe from India, marking the celebrations of India’s 78th Independence Day. The event, held in Kathmandu, showcased the rich cultural heritage of India and was a vibrant celebration of the enduring ties between India and Nepal.
The recital was graced by the presence of Badri Prasad Pandey, Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation, who attended as the Chief Guest. The event drew a distinguished audience, including prominent members of the Government of Nepal, the Nepali Army, the diplomatic community, the cultural fraternity, media, and civil society.
Ms. Dutta and her troupe delivered a mesmerizing performance, captivating the audience with the intricate and expressive movements characteristic of Kathak, one of India’s classical dance forms. The recital highlighted the deep cultural connections between the two neighboring countries.
The dance troupe’s tour of Nepal will continue with scheduled performances in Birgunj, Hetauda, Biratnagar, and Pokhara over the coming days, further strengthening cultural ties and sharing the art of Kathak with audiences across Nepal.
