Indian Envoy Confident: Discussion on Air Route for GBIA Showing Positive Momentum
The Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, has expressed optimism regarding the ongoing discussions between Nepal and India on establishing an air route for the Gautam Buddha International Airport. Speaking at an event organized in Lumbini to commemorate International Yoga Day, Ambassador Srivastava highlighted the positive developments in the talks and expressed confidence in achieving a favorable outcome.
During the event, Ambassador Srivastava emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural ties between India and Nepal. He stated, “We are also holding discussions on how to enhance our cultural relations with Nepal. The ongoing talks about the air route are expected to create a positive environment.”
The provision of an air route for flights to land at and depart from the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Lumbini has been a matter of concern, with India previously delaying the decision. This has resulted in operational challenges for the airport.
Ambassador Srivastava expressed his satisfaction with the increasing popularity of yoga, not only in Nepal and India but also across the globe.
