Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri Inaugurates New Nepal Bhasha Parishad Building in Kathmandu
Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, during his official visit to Nepal, inaugurated and inspected the newly constructed building of the Nepal Bhasha Parishad in Kathmandu today. The building, located in Naradevi, was built with assistance from India’s post-earthquake reconstruction grant.
Misri, accompanied by the Secretary of Nepal’s Ministry of Urban Development, Maniram Gelal, jointly inaugurated the new facility. The construction of the building represents a significant milestone in the ongoing collaborative efforts between India and Nepal, particularly in the post-earthquake reconstruction phase.
Misri arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday morning for a two-day visit at the invitation of Nepal’s Foreign Secretary, Sewa Lamsal. His itinerary includes meetings with key political leaders and officials in Nepal. Later today, he is scheduled to meet with President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
In addition, Misri is set to hold discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
This visit marks Misri’s first official trip to Nepal since assuming the role of Foreign Secretary. To honor the occasion, Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal will host a dinner for him this evening.
Misri is also scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba on Monday morning before concluding his visit and returning to India on Monday evening.
