Indo-Nepal Border Coordination Meeting Focuses on Security and Cross-Border Issues
The Indo-Nepal Border Coordination Meeting was held on January 11 (2081.09.27 BS) at the Rupaidiha Joint Check Post, India, under the aegis of the District Magistrate Office of Bahraich.
The meeting focused on strengthening cross-border security arrangements, coordinating activities for the upcoming Mahakumbh Mela, and preparing for Indian Republic Day celebrations. Key discussions also centered on addressing and preventing border crimes such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, and the smuggling of wildlife and forest products.
Participants included Chief District Officers of Banke and Bardiya districts from Nepal, along with their counterparts from Bahraich district in India. Senior officials from customs, security agencies, transport, road, and forest offices from both countries also attended the program.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of gifts, and the District Magistrate of Bahraich delivered a vote of thanks, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration to ensure effective border management and cooperation.
