Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav emphasized the need to internalize Buddha’s teachings and dedicate efforts to the country’s development and prosperity. In his message of best wishes on the occasion of Buddha Purnima today, Vice President Yadav extended his heartfelt wishes for peace, prosperity, and happiness to all Nepali Buddhist sisters and brothers both in Nepal and abroad.
Vice President Yadav also extended his best wishes for the Ubhauli festival, celebrated by the Kirant community.
He highlighted that adherence to Buddhist philosophy could foster global peace and fraternity. He reminded the audience that Lord Buddha’s quest was to demonstrate the value of truth and peace, rendering the pursuit of power and material possessions irrelevant.
Describing Buddha as the epitome of nonviolence and peace, Vice President Yadav noted Buddhism’s significant influence on Nepali Hinduism as well.
“Buddha’s teachings on nonviolence, truth, and peace remain profoundly relevant today, guiding us towards unity and harmony,” stated Vice President Yadav in his message.
