International Conclave on Global Peace for Prosperity to Commence in Lumbini
Lumbini, the sacred birthplace of Buddha, is set to host an international conclave on ‘Global Peace for Prosperity’ from March 21 to 22. The conference, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Honorary Consular Corps Nepal (HCCN), aims to foster global collaboration and promote Lumbini as a symbol of peace and prosperity.
Ambassadors and representatives from 18 countries without embassies in Nepal, as well as honorary consuls representing various nations, will gather for the event. Alongside high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, experts in foreign affairs and heritage will participate in discussions focused on investment opportunities and tourism potential in Nepal.
Notable attendees include Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Hit Bahadur Tamang, and officials from the Investment Board, Nepal Tourism Board, and Lumbini Development Trust.
The conclave aims to showcase Lumbini’s cultural and religious significance while fostering connections with nearly one billion Buddhists worldwide. Dean of HCCN, Bishnu Kumar Agarwal, emphasized the event’s role in enhancing global fraternity and attracting investment to Nepal.
Discussions and presentations during the conclave will center on investment opportunities in Nepal and the tourism potential of Lumbini, with the overarching goal of promoting peace, prosperity, and international cooperation.
