Is the Power Equation Changing? Home Minister Says ‘No’

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has dismissed the widespread discussion about a change in the power equation as mere rumors.

Speaking briefly to the media at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwar on Monday, Lamichhane stated that he had no information regarding any changes in the power equation.

“The reports circulating in the media are just rumors,” Lamichhane said. He added that he did not sense any such development, noting that he had recently spoken with two leaders.

Lamichhane clarified that the recent meeting between top leaders was a formal one and should not be overinterpreted.

“It’s just a rumor. I don’t know that. I am also in the government. I am a partner of the government coalition. There is nothing like that,” Home Minister Lamichhane said. “I also spoke to two leaders recently. Sometimes there is a meeting when there is some misunderstanding in various processes. It’s a normal meeting. There is nothing to be taken seriously.”
