Jajarkot and Rukum West: Power Fully Restored
The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has successfully restored electricity supply in all areas of Jajarkot and Rukum West, except for locations severely affected by the recent earthquake. The power supply had been disrupted due to damage to utility poles and transmission lines caused by the earthquake.
A dedicated team deployed by the NEA worked tirelessly to repair the damaged infrastructure, including poles and transmission lines. Their efforts paid off, and electricity was fully restored by 10 AM.
NEA’s Karnali Provincial Office, under the leadership of Chief Shambhu Kusiyat Yadav, prioritized the restoration of electricity to essential facilities such as hospitals, ensuring that critical services could continue uninterrupted.
Chief Yadav emphasized that ongoing rescue operations are underway in areas where houses were damaged by the earthquake. In these incident-prone regions, the decision to temporarily cut off power supply has been made to reduce the risk of further accidents during the rescue efforts. As a result, power has been intentionally cut off in areas with extensive damage, while other regions continue to receive a normal supply of electricity.
This rapid restoration of power is a significant step toward normalizing life in the earthquake-affected areas, providing much-needed relief to the local communities. The NEA remains committed to ensuring a reliable power supply and continuing to support the recovery and rebuilding efforts in these regions.
