Janamat Party Seeks Clarification on Role in Madhes Govt. Before Joining Coalition
The Janamat Party led by Dr. CK Raut has decided to seek clarification about its potential role in the Madhes government before committing to the newly formed ruling coalition. The decision was made during a Secretariat meeting held at the party’s central office in Kathmandu.
The party expressed dissatisfaction with the Madhes government from the outset, citing disagreements during the implementation phase of an initial agreement on rotating leadership. These disagreements ultimately led to the resignation of the party leader from the government last month.
Despite the discord, the Janamat Party has actively participated in the current provincial government, where one of its members, Saroj Kumar Yadav, serves as the Chief Minister.
Before officially joining the coalition, Dr. Raut’s party aims to engage in discussions about its role within the government, including the allocation of ministries. While the party initially participated in the coalition formed on December 25, 2023, it later withdrew its support.
This time, Dr. Raut intends to address his party’s concerns and expectations regarding its participation in the coalition, ensuring clarity and transparency in the power-sharing arrangements.
