Janamat Party unhappy over division of ministries
The Janamat Party has expressed its discontent over the division of ministries, while stating that the party’s candidate refused to assume office as the Minister for Water Supply.
Abdul Khan, representing the party, had taken oath of office and secrecy as the minister without portfolio in the Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’-led government.
Talking to RSS here on Tuesday, Khan, also Vice-Chairperson of the Party, said, “Our party has laid its claim on the Ministry for Industry, Commerce and Supplies. I refused to assume office after our party was entrusted with responsibility by the Ministry of Water Supply against the agreement.”
Khan clarified that he turned down taking up the office as the Minister for Water Supply after he felt that the ruling coalition overlooked the Madhesh and arbitrarily changed the ministry without consulting the Chairperson of the party.
The matter related to change in the ministry would be floated in the all-party meeting, said Khan, adding that his party would decide on whether to consider the Ministry presented to his party.
