Jhalnath Khanal Warned Former King: ‘Abandon the Dream of Reclaiming Throne’

Former Prime Minister and leader of CPN (Unified Socialist), Jhala Nath Khanal, has warned to former King Gyanendra Shah, advising him against harboring any aspirations of returning to monarchy through temple worship. Speaking at an event held in Kathmandu on Saturday, Khanal emphasized that the activities of the former king would not undermine democracy in any way.

In recent times, the former king has been actively participating in public events and delivering speeches. He has attended civic appreciation events organized in Itahari, Dhangadhi, and other locations, where he addressed the audience.

Gyanendra Shah, our former king, is currently traversing various places as an ordinary individual. He visits temples, where devotees gather, to connect with their emotions. While it is commendable to engage in physical exercise, he must abandon the dream of reclaiming the throne. Khanal stated, “Becoming the president of RPP or starting a political party is a part of democracy. However, worshiping in temples will not lead to the reinstatement of the monarchy.”
