Janata Samajwadi Party Chairman, Upendra Yadav, has strongly objected to the proposed name “Koshi Province” for Province No. 1, asserting that it does not adequately reflect the historical background and identity of the region. In a recent statement, Chairman Yadav demanded the cancellation of the name and urged the adoption of a new name that aligns with the region’s cultural heritage and historical significance.

The party firmly believes that the chosen name should resonate with the aspirations and sentiments of the local population, honoring their contributions throughout history. Chairman Yadav called upon the authorities to select a name that encompasses the essence of Province No. 1 and addresses its diverse cultural tapestry.

Furthermore, Chairman Yadav appealed to the government to refrain from suppressing the ongoing demonstrations in Province No. 1. He emphasized the fundamental democratic right to peaceful protest and stressed the need for the government to engage in constructive dialogue with the demonstrators.
