JSP Picks Puja Chaudhary as Nominee for Upcoming NA Elections
In a significant move towards gender inclusivity, the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal has announced the nomination of Puja Chaudhary as their candidate for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) elections scheduled for January 25. This decision comes as part of the ruling coalition’s commitment to allocate one seat for women from the JSP.
The decision to nominate Puja Chaudhary was finalized during the central working committee meeting held in Kathmandu on Sunday. JSP spokesperson Manish Suman confirmed that the committee unanimously agreed to put forward Chaudhary’s name for the NA elections, emphasizing the party’s dedication to promoting women’s representation in political spheres.
Earlier discussions within the ruling coalition led to the consensus of allocating one seat under the women’s category to the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP). This move is seen as a positive step towards fostering gender balance and ensuring that women play an active role in the decision-making processes of the country.
