Kaligandaki Corridor Blocked Due to Landslides Triggered by Incessant Rainfall
The Kaligandaki Corridor has been rendered impassable due to landslides caused by continuous heavy rainfall. The road has been completely blocked for traffic since Monday evening, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Yadav. The landslide occurred in Dablyang of Baglung Municipality-10.
As a result, both long and short-distance vehicles are halted, creating significant disruptions for travelers and transport services. Efforts to clear the debris and resume traffic will take some time as the rain continues unabated.
This is not the first instance of such disruption; the road was previously blocked last week and was reopened on Monday afternoon. However, heavy rain last night caused another landslide, leading to the current blockade.
Authorities are urging caution and advising travelers to avoid the area until the road can be safely cleared and reopened.
