Karnali government announces plans to build model villages
The Karnali Province government has decided to develop model villages in touristic destinations within the Province, in collaboration with the federal government.
The plan aims to explore the tourism potential of the areas, promoting their cultural and natural excellences, it is said.
Under this, the government has announced to promote the historic Ringmo settlement that situates on the edge of of the Shey-Phoksundo Lake, featuring high essence of Buddhist art and culture. The government has allocated a budget of Rs 100 million for the Ringmo Settlement Development Programme in the current fiscal year.
Similarly, on a joint-venture of the federal and province governments, Simkot, the district headquarters of Humla, is to be transformed into a gateway to the Mansarobar area.
The development of a model village at Kharpu is part of this project, with a budget allocation of Rs 180 million.
The province government this year has allotted Rs 10.11 billion for the physical infrastructure, transport and urban development endeavors in the province.
