Kathmandu DAO Urges Peaceful and Law-Abiding Festival Celebrations
The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, has urged the public to celebrate upcoming festivals in a peaceful and respectful manner. In a notice issued today, Assistant Chief District Officer Anil Paudel called on citizens to avoid activities that could disrupt peace, order, or social harmony during the celebrations of Tihar, Nepal Sambat, and Chhath.
The DAO specifically cautioned against engaging in illegal activities, including gambling, bursting or transporting firecrackers, excessive alcohol consumption, and other prohibited behaviors. The notice emphasized that any involvement in such activities is punishable by law.
Locals are encouraged to report any violations to the police or directly to the DAO via the mobile phone number 9851281341, operated by the office’s information officer.
