King’s Message Strengthens Monarchy Movement: Rajendra Lingden

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has stated that former King Gyanendra Shah’s recent video message has reinforced the party’s agenda of restoring the monarchy, asserting that the current political system has failed to address the nation’s issues.

Lingden emphasized that the RPP has long been advocating for the reinstatement of the monarchy and the introduction of a directly elected executive prime minister. He believes the King’s message has further encouraged their movement. The party plans to hold meetings across all seven provinces to promote its agenda, which includes the abolition of provinces, the establishment of an executive prime ministerial system, and the declaration of Nepal as a Hindu nation.

He also stated that the former King’s message has created an opportunity for cooperation between like-minded political parties and individuals. Speaking about their upcoming meeting in Pokhara on Falgun 9, Lingden expressed enthusiasm, saying the King’s statement had strengthened their cause. He affirmed that there are two ways to implement the King’s call—through dialogue and through a movement—both of which the RPP is prepared to pursue.
