Kirtipur Gears Up for Exciting Evening Heritage Walk
In celebration of World Tourism Day, Kirtipur is all set to host an exciting evening heritage walk on September 27, 2023. This promising initiative, a collaborative endeavor by Kirtipur Municipality and the Kirtipur Volunteer Society, is designed to promote evening tourism and unveil the town’s concealed historical gems.
To ensure a memorable experience for visitors, a comprehensive training session was conducted on Sunday. The session aimed to equip local guides in Kirtipur with the art of storytelling, providing fascinating insights into the town’s rich history. The event saw the participation of 30 individuals, including members of the Guide Association of Kirtipur and other enthusiastic locals, as confirmed by a statement released by the Kirtipur Volunteer Society on Monday.
This training session is part of an ongoing campaign to introduce Kirtipur’s unique heritage and cultural offerings to a broader audience. In previous sessions, dedicated efforts were made to enhance Kirtipur’s digital presence through the creation of maps, pictures, and videos, showcasing the town’s charm to the world.
Expressing his enthusiasm for this endeavor, Kirtipur Mayor Rajkumar Nakarmi emphasized the town’s active role in promoting evening tourism. The upcoming heritage walk promises to be a delightful experience, inviting both locals and tourists to explore Kirtipur’s rich history and cultural heritage on World Tourism Day.
