KMG Chairman to be Transferred to Kathmandu for Medical Treatment

In a development concerning the ongoing case of Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group, who has been in Dhanusha police custody for seven days on charges of citizenship fraud, preparations are underway to transfer him to Kathmandu for medical treatment.

According to reports, Sirohiya’s health condition deteriorated during his custody in Dhanusha, prompting medical attention. A doctor at Kavya Hospital in Janakpurdham recommended his transfer to Kathmandu for necessary medical care, citing concerns over high blood pressure and heart rhythm issues.

Discussions are ongoing at the District Police Office regarding the legal procedures for this transfer. The decision will be made after consulting with the government attorney.

Preparations are being made to transport Sirohiya to Kathmandu by helicopter, as advised by medical professionals. The Dhanusha District Court, which extended his custody for the third time, emphasized his right to medical treatment and granted permission for his transfer to a well-equipped medical facility.

Sirohiya was brought to the Dhanusha District Court on Monday in an ambulance from Kavya Hospital, where he has been admitted after experiencing health complications. He was arrested from Kantipur’s headquarters in Thapathali last Tuesday and has since been under police custody.
