Kolkata Knight Riders Triumph in IPL 2024

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 reached its pinnacle with an exhilarating finale as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched their 3rd title in a thrilling showdown against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The nail-biting encounter saw KKR emerge victorious, securing not only the prestigious trophy but also a staggering prize money of INR 20 crore. Meanwhile, the valiant efforts of SRH earned them the runners-up position along with a commendable prize of Rs 13 crore.

Adding to the excitement, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru claimed the 3rd and 4th spots respectively in the points table. As a reward for their outstanding performances throughout the season, Rajasthan Royals received Rs 7 crore, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru were granted INR 6.5 crore.

Individual brilliance shone through as well, with Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru claiming the coveted Orange Cap for his phenomenal batting display, amassing 741 runs in 15 matches. His counterpart, Harshal Patel from Punjab Kings, clinched the Purple Cap for his exceptional bowling prowess, bagging 24 wickets in 14 matches. Both players were awarded Rs 10 lakh each for their remarkable achievements.

In other notable recognitions, Sunil Narine of Kolkata Knight Riders was crowned the Most Valuable Player of the season, while Nitish Kumar Reddy of Sunrisers Hyderabad was named the Emerging Player of the Season, earning them Rs 12 lakh and Rs 20 lakh respectively.

The Ultimate Fantasy Player of The Season title was also bestowed upon Sunil Narine, highlighting his outstanding contributions throughout the tournament. Additionally, players like Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Jake Fraser-McGurk were acknowledged for their exceptional performances in various categories.

Furthermore, the Fair Play Award was handed to Sunrisers Hyderabad for their exemplary sportsmanship, while the Hyderabad Cricket Association received the Pitch and Ground Award for maintaining top-notch facilities throughout the season.
