Koshi and Bagmati Provinces Brace for Heavy Rainfall Today, Other Regions to Experience Light to Moderate Showers
The Koshi and Bagmati provinces are on alert as heavy rainfall is predicted for today, with downpour expected during the afternoon and night hours. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, revealed that while the monsoon’s low-pressure line has approached the country, its impact remains subdued due to weak monsoon winds.
Currently, rain accompanied by thunderstorms has been reported in select areas of the Gandaki, Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces, as well as 1-2 locations within the Karnali province. The Weather Forecasting Division anticipates partial to widespread changes in weather patterns across the nation this afternoon. Additionally, light to moderate rain is anticipated in certain mountainous regions and other parts of the country.
As night falls, the provinces of Koshi, Madhes, and Gandaki are likely to experience rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, along with 1-2 places in other provinces. Given the potential for erratic weather conditions in various areas, the Division has issued a safety advisory, urging residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
The forecasted weather conditions underscore the need for residents to stay informed and prepared for varying levels of precipitation and atmospheric instability. Local authorities advise staying updated with official weather bulletins and heeding safety guidelines during adverse weather events.
