KUKL Manages Water Supply in Kathmandu Valley from 13 Ponds

The Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) has established a new water distribution system utilizing 13 ponds across the Kathmandu Valley. This initiative aims to effectively distribute water sourced from the Melamchi River in Sindhupalchowk.

According to Tika Bahadur Chaudhary, Chief of the Melamchi Drinking Water Project Implementation Directorate, the new arrangement ensures a proportional supply of water throughout the valley. To maintain water quality, tests for turbidity and chlorine levels are conducted at all the ponds.

Additionally, KUKL has begun a trial installation of automatic electric water meters at taps in the Chamati and Anamnagar areas, enhancing monitoring and management of water usage.
