Labour Minister stresses on collective efforts for resolving labour market problems
Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, has stressed on the need of systematizing the labour market preparing the will to carry out work through collective initiatives.
He also emphasized on increasing productivity and providing social security, systematizing the labour market.
Addressing the Ministerial and Business Roundtable Conference held in Riyadh of Saudi Arabia today, he laid emphasis on collective efforts for resolving the problems seen in the global labour market at a time when the world is passing through a rapid transformation.
Minister Bhandari on the occasion shared that Nepal has been providing targeted trainings to bridge the required skills gap in the labour market by identifying the skill gap, Minister Bhandari’s Secretariat stated.
Stating that the government has well understood the inevitability of organized labour in Nepal, he said they have given priority to skill development. He stressed that the government bodies should create an environment of trust to build relations between labour and employers, and it is the government’s responsibility to provide the social security in an effective way.
The Government of Nepal, he said, has been carrying out works to making the social security effective. The Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security further said all would be included in the social security and those vulnerable would be protected.
He also proposed establishing a network through such international forums for exchange of mutual information and learning and for collectively working for an efficient and productive labour market.
