Lawmakers Raise Concerns Over Key National and Humanitarian Issues

Members of the House of Representatives have called on the government to take swift and decisive action on several pressing matters during the emergency hour of today’s parliamentary session.

Ranjita Shrestha urged the government to conduct a fair and impartial investigation into the recent arrest of Nagarik Unmukti Party leader Resham Chaudhary, who was taken into custody on April 30.

Kantika Sejuwal appealed for immediate intervention to rescue Dipraj Bhandari, a 26-year-old youth from Sumli village in Chhayanath Municipality-14 of Mugu district. Bhandari has been stranded in the United Arab Emirates for over three months, where he had been employed for nearly a year.

Similarly, lawmaker Thakur Prasad Gaire pressed the government to expedite the long-delayed construction of the federal parliament building in the Singha Durbar complex.

Purna Bahadur Gharti Magar expressed concern over the failure to utilize budget allocations in various district headquarters, calling for more effective spending mechanisms.

Manish Jha, meanwhile, demanded increased representation of women in the Council of Ministers, emphasizing the need for inclusive governance.
