Lieutenant General of Indian Army Meets Nepali CoAS Sharma
Lieutenant General Pradeep Chandran Nair, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, PhD, Director General of Assam Rifles, Indian Army, had a courtesy meeting with General Prabhu Ram Sharma, Chief of the Army Staff, Nepali Army.
During the courtesy meeting held at the headquarters of the Nepali Army, Jangi Adda, they discussed issues such as strengthening bilateral relations.
Lt Gen Nair also paid courtesy calls on Naveen Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Nepal, at the Embassy of India.
He arrived in Kathmandu on April 8, marking the commencement of his official visit to Nepal. He was received at Tribhuvan International Airport by Col Amit Kumar Sharma, Defence Attaché of India to Nepal.
During his five-day visit, Lt Gen Nair visited BGSN Kathmandu, as well as the Pension Paying Offices in Pokhara and Dharan. He also addressed Ex-servicemen Rallies of Nepali Domiciled Gorkha Ex-servicemen in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dharan.
He lauded the bravery of the Gorkha Soldiers and saluted their courage and dedicated service to the nation. The General reminisced about the invaluable sacrifices of our gallant Gorkha veterans & affirmed the continued commitment of Assam Rifles, IA & GoI for their meaningful welfare, according to the statement issued by the Indian Embassy.
