Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is occurring in some areas of the hilly regions of Gandaki province and one or two places in the plains of Lumbini province, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reported. This weather pattern is influenced by the partial effect of local air and a low-pressure system around Uttar Pradesh, India.
The weather in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces is expected to remain partly to generally clear, while the rest of the country will experience clear skies. This afternoon, the hilly parts of the country will see partly to mostly cloudy conditions, while the remaining regions will be mostly clear. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, and one or two places in other parts of the country.
Tonight, the weather will remain clear in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, with clear skies in the remaining parts of the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected in some areas of the Koshi region, and heavy rain may occur in one or two places across the hilly regions, including Madhes and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Meanwhile, the temperature in the Kathmandu Valley continues to rise, with maximum temperatures expected to range between 31 and 33.4 degrees Celsius. In recent days, the maximum temperature in Dhangadi and Nepalgunj has surpassed 41 degrees Celsius.
