Locals demanding suspension bridge since 15 years in Jajarkot
Although the locals have been demanding construction of a suspension bridge over the Seureni stream located at Junichande rural municipality 4 and 11 since the last 15 years, it has not been constructed yet.
A local Resham Bahadur Khadka said they have been demanding building suspension bridge with almost all local leaders from Bhakta Bahadur Shah, member of the then Constituent Assembly, to the present ones till now, but none of them has paid attention in this regard.
Khadka shared locals of around half dozen of villages including Luhadaha and Kotang cross the rivulet keeping their lives at the risk.
Many people have lost their lives while cross the stream, mentioned Hari Bahadur Khadka, chairperson of Junichande-4.
“Applications were filed time and again at the then District Development Committee for the construction of the bridge since 2064 BS. We also informed lawmakers for the same,” he said, adding that the rural municipality has incorporated the issue in its policy and programme for the past six years continuously, it has not been implemented.
Similarly, Chief of Primary Health Centre, Kotang, Binod Kumar Shahi, said people visiting the health centre to receive health facilities face problem during rainy season in lack of bridge. Likewise, businessmen also face problem to supply goods in lack of bridge.
